Default SA crashes on "normal" mpeg2 file

Hi,

SA worked fine for some months now. But suddenly I have one episode of the simpsons that crashes within 10 seconds when SA tries to apply its magic ;-)
It is a simple mpeg2 file recorded with SageTV with my old Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350. Nothing special like high definition or something like that.
If you want me to upload that file please PM me your ftp server details.
Also let me know if I should upload the whole file (1.3 GB) or only the first chunks packed my WinRAR.

Thanks,

Oliver

Yep. Still alive. Well, recently resuscitated anyway.

Go ahead and upload the whole thing.

OK, I just noticed that the file is corrupt. Video is fine but no audio. I don't know what SageTV produced here.... all my other files recorded quite well.
The corruption might be the cause why SA crashes.
Do you want that file nevertheless? Then please PM me the login details of your ftp server.

Try it with the latest version (0.9.3). There are some changes in there that might fix it.

Ok. Got it. While you may not watch them since they don't have audio, SA is going to analyze them anyway. I mean, why not?

Thanks!

Well, yes. I use Dirmon to let SA analyze all my mpeg files as they are being recorded. Thanks to Dirmon there were a lot of SA instances started, every instance crashed after a short while.
I now know that the mpeg file is corrupted (no audio), but I thought that maybe you want to make SA more robust against corrupted files and this mpeg file could help you.

Please let me know if you find out anything...

Regards,
Oliver

I found out that SA doesn't like files without audio. I also found a one-off error when I was looking for the audio PID that directly caused the crash. I fixed that error and then made SA happy to analyze files without audio. It actually didn't do too bad.

I will release an update on Friday morning (4 April 2008).

Thanks!
